All rooms are airconditioned - with individual climate controls in each.

Common areas are in excellent condition. The main common area has views of the well established gardens. There is a separate television area as well as three private lounge areas for use by residents - family members and their visitors. Family dining in these areas may be arranged. Residents and their family members and friends may access the BBQ area. Common areas are fitted out with comfortable and modern furniture. The main common area is 90 sq metres - the television area is 16 sq metres and the 3 separate lounge areas are each 44 sq metres.

All rooms are ground floor - with abundant natural light. All rooms have dimmer lights functions - reading lights and internet - telephone access points. The facility is a purpose built - high-care service offering a number of private areas for use by residents and family members and visitors. The facility is located opposite the Mater hospital and close to public transport. Loreto is adjacent to Anderson Botanical Gardens which is a pleasant and relaxing environment - easily accessible to residents and family members. The service is supported by a multi-disciplininary team including 24 hour registered nursing care - assistant nurses - diversional therapy - occupational therapy - physiotherapy and pharmacy. The service is underpinned by the holistic care of the values of the Sisters of Mercy. Pastoral Care is offered and there is an on-site Chapel. Because Loreto is a small facility - it has a strong family atmosphere which is welcomed and valued by both residents and their families.

Additional Care Info:
A diversional therapist is employed on staff. Meetings with residents and their families are held regularly - encouraging active involvement in planning of care and day-to-day service delivery. This enables care to be tailored to individual resident needs. A Skype service is available for residents to use. Menus are chosen by residents and special occasions celebrated. Snacks are provided outside normal meals times as requested. A glass of wine is offered with the evening meal. A delta dog service ( dog therapy visits) is facilitated. Local newspapers are provided to the community areas.

There are costs associated with these extra services: Residents may elect to utilise the visiting hair-dressing service. Residents may participate in alternative therapies such as Yoga and tai-chi. A staff escort for residents to attend medical and dental appointments is available where a family member cannot attend. Residents are able to purchase intensive - long term rehabilitation services which may be required that are not considered part of maintenance therapy or temporary intensive services - such as recreational therapy - speech therapy - podiatry - occupational therapy and physiotherapy services which may be required following serious illness - injury - surgery or trauma. Non-standard furniture specifically requested by a resident may attract a fee. Costs associated with electrical testing of personal appliances bought in with the resident.
