Books shelves - with plenty of books on different topics - are located in two lounge areas. There is one wheelchair parking bay. Gardens and court yards are well maintained. The main lounge and dining room are fully air-conditioned. New soft furnishings for the dining areas were purchased in 2013. Southern Cross Nordby residential care facility offers a wide variety of activities and events which include a walking group - bowling (Indoor or outdoor) - exercise classes - sing-a-longs - shopping trips - scrabble - quiz - trivia nights - card games - bingo - movies - a mens group - special lunches - happy hour - entertainers and concerts - bus excursions - armchair travel and access to local hydrotherapy facilities. A coffee shop is included in the activities program once a month and family and friends are invited to this special activity. High tea is provided for a gold coin donation. A Sunset Program takes place every day from 4pm to 8pm. Local volunteers assist recreational activities officers and residents with the activities and outing schedules.
