Each room has air conditioning - a hospital Mt Lofty offers a comfortable - homely environment - with single en- suited rooms. Rooms are serviced daily. Each room has a large security screened window to ensure security as well as excellent ventilation. The room has a single door that leads out to a patio - balcony area that overlooks picturesque gardens. Each room has reverse cycle air conditioning - to keep you warm in winter and cool through summer. The room has an Aged Care appropriate bed dependent on your needs as well as a three drawer bedside table and built in cupboards that have both hanging space shelving for your personal belongings - four large drawers and a work space that has adequate room for a computer or to utilise as a writing desk if you wish. Each ensuite is large to allow space for equipment such as a mobile bath and wheelchair access if required . The toilet has handrails each side to allow for that extra support you may require. The room features a hand-held shower hose - hand basin and vanity unit.

The building itself is a hexagonal design with five rooms to an area. Each of these areas have access to an activities space - TV and lounge room - as well as own dining area in each of the quadrants. The design of the building allows for access to all areas freely - where you can meet and dine with other residents if you wish. There is a communal kitchenette located on either side of the units with cutlery - crockery - glasses - tea and coffee facilities - as well as dry food stores and fridge. There is an internal courtyard positioned from the common areas - where you are able to walk out into a serene environment with seating access where you will find a variety of plants - gardens - paths as well as a bird aviary and a Guinea pig hutch.

Mt lofty is built on approximately 5 acres of lush green space. Mt Lofty comprises of a 40 bed Aged Care specific facility - comprising of a range of care needs to cater for all support services; such as dementia support - high care needs - respite and palliative care. The facility is single story for all living requirements. There is a lift which is able to transfer residents downstairs to Magnolia which is a large area for resident activities - the areas also comprise of a TV - lounge area - a functioning kitchen for resident cooking or family and friends to celebrate special occasions in private. The facility also has a large undercover BBQ area that is available for functions for families.

The facility has a registered nurse onsite 7 day a week 24 hours a day 365 days a year. All residents have access to the own general practitioner of choice. The facility can maintain palliative residents within the facility in their own room. Access to the AGES (Age Care geriatric evaluation services) team which is approved by Toowoomba Hospital to avoid unnecessary admissions to hospital. There is a fulltime recreation officer that is supported daily by a nurse that offers one on one and group activities. Mt Lofty has a bus for resident outings. Mt Lofty has a fulltime Allied Health Assistant who is supported by Toowoomba Hospital Allied Health staff. A Physiotherapist - Occupational Therapist - Speech pathologist and Dietic visit Mt Lofty on a regular basis. Each resident or their representative are responsible for the payment of medications inclusive of lotions - creams prescribed by their GP. Each resident or their representative is responsible for paying hairdressing costs. Any costs associated with outings of residents is met by the resident. A cost will be incurred for resident requiring a nurse to escort them to appointment. Intensive long term rehabilitation services following illness - injury - surgery or trauma are not provided by the facility. Provision of these services can be arranged at the expense of the resident.
