"Ashford ageing Care Facility has been providing care to regional rural remote care recipients since 1993.The Facility has been successful in meeting the 44 standards required under the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency - and has passed all unannounced and planned inspections by the Agency since 1993. All staff are sourced from the local area - and are able to understand and support residents who are living in a regional rural remote location. Staff training is organised through the Aged Care Channel and education service providers who can carry out training onsite - and this is supported by 2 staff members who have Certificate 4 in Workplace Training and Assessing. Management staff have formed and will continue to nurture - a professional relationship with the general practioners - allied health personnel and pharmacies who service the Facility to ensure continuity of service and medical support for the identified special needs group. Each bedroom has a large window - sliding door-2.7mtrs x 2.03mtrs-combination that opens onto a large covered verandah. Each room has a view of the surrounding countryside or township. Each bedroom has newly laid vinyl floor covering - fire retardant curtaining - a bed with linen and bedspread - a bedside table - built in wardrobes with drawers - a wall mounted colour plasma television - DVD combination - reverse cycled air conditioning and an easy chair. A picture rail surrounds the room allowing residents to hang memorabilia around the walls.The large ensuite has safety standard vinyl on the floors and walls - has a handheld shower fixture - safety rails in the shower and beside the toilet.There is a large handbasin and a mirrored cabinet above the sink. Each room is equipped with a nurses emergency call system - smoke alarms and a security system. As each room becomes vacant - the rooms are repainted.
