The bedrooms at HammondCare Woy Woy have been designed to minimise confusion and maximise independence and comfort for residents. All residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture with them to personalise their bedrooms. Each of the bedrooms at HammondCare Woy Woy has a built-in wardrobe and a window. If that is not possible - they are provided with a bedside table and a chair. All the bedrooms in HammondCare Woy Woy have an ongoing maintenance program to ensure that they are in the best possible condition for residents. The carpet and light fittings are in good condition. Common Area Details:
The six cottages within HammondCare Woy Woy have a variety of common spaces - allowing residents to choose where and with whom they spend their time. These common areas include: a fully functioning domestic kitchen where residents can participate in the preparation of fresh food; an open plan lounge and dining area with small tables and a range of comfortable lounge chairs; a parlour with a large table and chairs for private meetings; sunrooms with views to the garden and good natural light; a backyard with a barbecue - a small pergola - outdoor tables and chairs and a raised garden beds; and a domestic laundry. HammondCare Woy Woy is all single-storey and has no stairs. There are nurse call outlets located at important points throughout the buildings and there is centralised heating and air conditioning throughout all the buildings. The facility has an ongoing maintenance program to ensure that it remains in good condition.

Specific Features:
HammondCare Woy Woy has been built in line with best practice in dementia design - to enhance residents sense of autonomy and dignity. All deliveries and linen trolleys are separated from the cottage environment in staff-only back-of-house areas to minimise disruptions. Memory boards with photos are located at the entrance to residents bedrooms to help them identify their private space. Residents have a direct line of sight from the threshold of their bedrooms to to common areas to assist with way-finding. Inside the rooms - residents have a direct line of site from their bed to the toilet - promoting independence and the taps in the ensuite bathrooms are colour coded hot (red) and cold (blue) for safety.

All residents and their families have access to HammondCares pastoral care service led by an experienced Pastoral Care Coordinator. The pastoral care and support is tailored to meet individual needs and is available to people of all faiths and none. A dedicated team of volunteers provides personalised care and companionship to residents according to their interests and preferences. HammondCare is committed to providing high quality fresh food - with input into menu design from our experienced Executive Chef and a dietician.
