Room Description:
Rooms The rooms are generously proportioned with an average size of 20.7 square metres and are located off wide central corridors in each wing of the facility. Each room is designed for single occupancy with space for sleeping - sitting and dining and has a private ensuite bath-room. Residents are encouraged to bring in their own furnishings to make their room a familiar ?home away from home?. A modern electronically adjustable single bed and bedside table is provided for the sleeping area. There is a built-in floor to ceiling double door wardrobe with internal drawers - shelving and hanging space for clothes and ample storage for other effects. In the sitting area there is a flexible space for a small sofa and one or two lounge chairs - a coffee table - bookshelf and TV - and the dining area is designed to accommodate a one metre square table so that residents can entertain friends and family in the room. There is a small kitchenette with a sink - storage units including a lockable cupboard - multiple power points and space for a small fridge and microwave. All rooms are fully carpeted and have lined and interlined curtains and a picture window which provides a view of the landscaped gardens. The central focus is a large lounge room area with high ceilings which provide a light and airy environment for residents to watch TV or videos - listen to the stereo or just relax and take in the views to the landscaped gardens and central courtyard. There is comfortable seating - a feature fire place and a baby grand piano for the use of visiting musicians. There are an additional 3 smaller lounge areas plus a Physiotherapy - Tai Chi Room and an Activities Room which are capable of multiple uses including entertaining friends and family and social gatherings. The main dining area is centrally located and - like the lounge areas - has natural lighting and views to the garden and courtyard. There is an enriched lifestyle program designed specifically for each resident. This secure and self-contained unit has rooms arranged around a central sitting - dining area where residents naturally congregate. It also has a smaller lounge area - a large retro activities room and an outside balcony area overlooking the gardens below with planters - sunshade canopy and outdoor furniture.
