Brightwater aims to make our facilities feel as close to a normal home as possible. We have paid attention to the design and fit out of each site so that they are places all of our residents feel proud and comfortable to be in and where families feel welcome to visit. All rooms at Brightwater Huntingdale are single rooms. They offer residents extra privacy and range from 14.93m2 to 19.01m2 in size. They are equipped with their own private ensuite bathroom - which provides storage for toiletries and plenty of space around the basin to hold toothbrushes and provide a work surface. All of our bathrooms are equipped with wall hooks for hanging robes and are designed for easy access for all of our residents even as their care needs increase. We also - on occasion - hold events that families can attend - such as our Birthday celebrations and Christmas dinner. Apart from their room - residents have access to a number of different areas at Brightwater Huntingdale. * Bus outings are available monthly and residents are offered this service on a roster basis. The outing destinations and content are decided in collaboration with residents. * Resident & Relative Information Sessions are held every two months. * Entertainers perform on site once a month. * Resident Banking support is provided by our Administration Assistant on weekdays during working hours. * A range of lifestyle activities are provided to residents such as: - Gardening - Residents who wish to be involved in gardening can assist with the planting of pot plants - sewing of seeds - watering the garden and cutting and arranging flowers. - Activities - Held three times a week for residents who wish to participate - they include activities such as bingo - card games - quizzes - putt-putt and golf. - Birthdays - Brightwater takes delight in celebrating each residents birthday. * Seating and Equipment Clinic (Seatec) provides a unique specialist therapy service for people who have a disability which affects their health and wellbeing. Brightwater is the only residential aged care organisation in Australia that has a seating and equipment clinic and is able to provide a range of therapy services such as seating - wheelchair mobility - 24 hour postural care - upper limb splinting - and creative arts.
