Every room has all the amenities - these include: An Ensuite - a kitchenette - a Wardrobe - a Bedside Table - A table for your Television and an armchair and each room is fully carpeted. There is also a large glass sliding door out onto patio - garden area with a pergola. The Ensuite Bathroom is tiled and includes hand basin - cabinets - medicine cabinet - toilet and shower and hand rails. The Kitchenette includes sink - cupboards - bench space - Bar Fridge & electric cordless Kettle. There is a wardrobe with hanging space and shelving - There is also a personal safe in each room. The Linen - Doona - quilt cover and pillows are provided - but you are able to purchase or bring your own favorite articles from home - whichever suits you.

The facility has a large open plan communal area in the Lounge room. There is a Dining Room - Front porch area - a Courtyard - and 3 smaller personalised sitting areas as well as a large Activity Room. The Building is brick with a colourbond roof. Lounge room has large gas heater - TV - Video - DVD player - CD & iPod player with a wide range of Movies and CD s from various decades. The large activity room has lounge sitting area for just sitting chatting or reading. There are large tables to use for various activities that are either individualized to suit everyone s capabilities or as a group activity. These activities are very much all inclusive and a fun situation.The courtyard is partially covered by 4 large Umbrellas - with lots of seating and a BBQ. This area is large enough for many functions. There is also a raised flower bed and a fish tank. We encourage family style activities in this area. In the Dining room we have 4 large tables for resident to sit at - there are large win

The room contain a king single or electric bed(whichever suits) - a bedside table and Armchair. There is an air conditioner - heater positioned on the wall. Block out curtains have been provided to ensure comfort in both winter and summer. Room can be personalized to your liking.

Personalised call bell system is in place for resident s safety & care needs. There are wall bells in the residents room next to the bed and in the ensuite and each resident has a personal pendant to wear around the neck - so that the resident can feel safe in any area of the hostel. Emergency bells have been strategically placed around the facility in common areas and corridors. There is a large kitchen providing homely style meals. Residents have input into menus. Staff service residents rooms each day with full cleans throughout the week. The facility has its own laundry. Snowy River Hostel maintains a high staff to resident ratio - providing quick and efficient personalized care. These staff members are chosen for their dedication and friendliness adding to the ambiance of the facility. Qualified staff include the Manager - Registered Nurse. The Care co-ordinator who is an endorsed enrolled nurse and all other staff have their Certificate III in Aged Care as a minimum standard. The

There facility has secured a visiting Podiatrist who comes once a month and there is also a visiting physiotherapist. Pathology person visits the facility once a week and other times as requested.Residents have access to the local Mens group - Autumn Leaves (which are both social outings arranged through Home & Community Services). The local card group visits one Saturday a month and we have the mobile library visit once a fortnight. Community Transport and the Tranconnect bus is available to eligibility assessed residents and can be arranged on your behalf if required. Appointments can be made at local hairdresser
